Sherry said, “Harwick will pull all records. A wide set of them. Including records tied to accounts and transactions we’ve been trying to obtain through the courts for months.” Sarah was quiet. Sherry said, “All we need to do is wait. We will get most of what we want through their efforts.”
Sarah said, “You think this helps us?” Sherry said, “I think we should wait.” Sarah sat with that for a moment. The idea that the thing designed to destroy her might be the thing that saves her was too strange to hold comfortably. She said she understood. She wasn’t sure she did. She wrote down: wait.
